Spreading Christmas Cheer: Bringing Warmth and Joy to Children in Need

Spreading Christmas Cheer: Bringing Warmth and Joy to Children in Need

Inspired by the sight of children working in brick kilns in Village Hangarwal, Anser felt compelled to bring some Christmas joy into their lives. He envisioned a celebration where children from schools and brick kilns could come together, showcase their talents through a vibrant program, and enjoy a festive lunch. The dream was to also provide each child with a warm sweater to combat the harsh winter weather.

And so, Chopan Trust embarked on a mission to spread warmth and cheer. Our Christmas celebration brought together over 1000 children and 100+ teachers, filling the auditorium with laughter and festive music. The children’s performances were a delightful showcase of their talents, creating lasting memories for all.

Our outreach extended beyond the celebration. We traveled to brick kilns in Manga Mandi and Kasur, distributing warm sweaters to hundreds of children and providing them with nutritious lunches.

We also visited two orphanages: Sara Grace Home and New Hope for Life Shelter Home, where we provided warm sweaters and brought the spirit of Christmas to the children residing there. Witnessing the smiles on their faces was a truly heartwarming experience.

Testimonies:

  • Nomia Salamt, a 6th-grade student at Grace Community School: “I am very happy to receive my gift of a sweater. My parents are brick kiln workers and could not buy a sweater for me in previous years. Because of this, I couldn’t attend school during colder days in winter and felt embarrassed.”

  • Akash from Mercy School (Principal): “Every year we had difficult situations during the winter season because children didn’t have warm sweaters to wear. We are so grateful that children are excited to wear warm sweaters and enjoy their learning this year.”

  • Arif Rasheed, Principal from Grace Community School (a brick kiln community school): “We have been praying for years to provide sweaters to children and thank God that Chopan Trust provided sweaters this year.”

These testimonies beautifully illustrate the profound impact of your generosity. Your support has not only provided essential warmth during the cold winter months but also empowered these children to continue their education without interruption.
